Fine Motor Fun – Scramble and Perfection!

This is just a quick tip on a super fun fine motor activity.  The occupational therapist at my school started having my kids play these games, and they LOVED them!  So now I use them in centers and during open choice time to get more opportunities to build fine motor skills in a fun way.

The traditional game “Perfection,” and now “Scramble” (great for two players) are a great way to sneak in some fine motor fun.  Kids race the clock (and in Scramble, each other) to get all of their pieces into the game board before time runs out and they pop!

The pieces are small, each with a little stick that must be grabbed using the pincer grip.  Kids then have to turn and fit each piece into the game board.

It is fun, fun, fun, and great practice.  Give it a try!  What are your favorite fine motor games?

This is good for some special needs students as well.

Absolutely! If we can make things more fun, we should do it right? Especially when it helps kids along with things that might challenge them.
